How we are different

Uncrowded Beach

We invest away from the crowds (literally)

We have spent our careers working in the major financial hubs of Sydney, London, New York and Zug (Switzerland) but now choose to base ourselves away from the crowds. We genuinely think this promotes clear independent thinking and makes us less susceptible to herd-mentality. Our investment focus is primarily on the small-cap space which is far-less covered by institutional investors.

Investment Opportunities

We focus exclusively on performance, not empire-building

We seek to invest into the best risk-adjusted return opportunities we can find - even if that means our strategy cannot easily be put into a box by an asset-consultant. We run a capacity-constrained strategy that prioritises absolute performance over growing our asset base to earn management fees.

Business Owners

We think and act like business-owners, not traders

With our private equity backgrounds we take a patient approach to investing. This combined with our investor-base means we can make the right decisions for long-term outperformance, rather than managing to short-term performance numbers.

Like-minded Investor Club

We are assembling a like-minded investor club

We genuinely view Tectonic as a like-minded investor club rather than a funds management business. We invest our clients' money as if it is our own (because more than half of Tectonic’s capital is the team’s personal investment!). We provide significant and regular visibility to our clients on what we are thinking and where we are investing. When faced with down-markets - our investors are that rare breed that see it as an opportunity to increase their equity exposure (at bargain prices), not run for the exits.
